Graduate Visa: What is it, and How Does it Work?

Students who complete their degrees after the summer of 2021 will be entitled to work in Canada for up to two years under the UK Study Visa without IELTS terms. It doesn't matter what field of study you're pursuing; this new regulation applies to all degrees.

The Graduate Visa Application Process is Now Open

To be qualified for the visa, you do not need to have a job lined up when you apply. All you have to do is get your degree from one of our university partners, which has a proven track record of compliance.

You'll also need to be in the UK and have a valid Tier 4 visa at the time of application.

With your degree in hand, you may hunt for positions directly connected to your career path, or you can obtain experience in other fields. It's a great chance to develop your resume and get your career off to a flying start!

You don't have to stay in the same employment for your Graduate visa, so if you decide to take some time off or switch jobs, it won't affect your eligibility.

For Ph.D. students, the regulations are a little different. A Ph.D. degree holder may work in the United Kingdom for up to three years after finishing their studies in the UK.

Government plans to boost prospects for overseas graduates in the UK and welcome 600,000 international students to the country's institutions by 2030 are part of the visa application.

Students from all over the globe may now take advantage of great possibilities to further their careers by studying abroad in the United Kingdom.

What is the Post-Study Work Visa in the United Kingdom for Graduates?

Overseas students can remain in the United Kingdom for up to two years on a post-study employment visa after graduation.

All overseas students who begin their studies in the fall of 2020 or after will be subject to the new visa restrictions. For the first two years after graduation, holders of a UK study visa without ielts
visas are free to choose whatever job they want, eventually converting to a regular work visa.

The UK's two-year post-graduation work visa makes it a popular choice for overseas students looking to get their feet wet. Only a few European nations provide better circumstances for overseas students than the United Kingdom.

Who May Apply for a Post-Study Work Visa in the United Kingdom?

As of September 2020, any overseas student with a valid Tier 4 visa who enrolls at a UK school will be able to remain in the country after graduation to seek employment.

Rules that previously permitted PhDs to remain in the UK after graduation have now been extended. The UK claims this is due to a desire to expand its STEM-related business sectors. All recent college graduates will be able to take advantage of this option beginning in 2020.

Bachelor's and master’s degree holders had a four-month window to remain and hunt for work. That's now been extended to two years, thanks to changes to graduate visa regulations.

To Sum It Up

Generally, graduates may remain in the country for up to two years after graduation on a post-study work visa. There are no restrictions on where you may work for the first two years following graduation. If you wish to remain in the UK after the PSW visa expires, you'll have to apply for a "General Work Visa" (or "skilled work visa") instead.
