The Canadian Global Talent System is a program that started in June 2017 that welcomes nearly 40,000 people who are newcomers to come and live there. It is a stream that is a two-year pilot program that helps Canadian employers to get high skilled talents from all around the world. The allows the Canadian Employers to bring foreign workers with a
Canada Work Visa to fill spots for the need of specialized highly skilled workers.There are two main categories for the Global Talent Stream; they are:
Category A These are the high growth companies that need to recruit unique and specialized talent from other countries. A designated referral partner must refer to the Global Talent Stream for the employers in this Category.
The eligibility for Category A: For Category A, a company must be referred by one of the Stream?s designated partners that can refer to the Global Talent Stream. The position is given to the candidates the meet the required talents that are needed for the said post. This employee should be able to scale up and grow along with the company.In order to confirm the eligibility for Category a, the company must follow the eligibility criteria of the following based on the ESDC:
- The company operates in Canada
- The company has a focus on innovation
- The company has the willingness and also the capacity to scale up
- The company is seeking a position that is special and unique to a specific skill
- The company requires a foreign worker with a unique skill set
These unique and specialized workmen would require a minimum annual salary of at least CAD 80,000 too.
